Nicaragua | Regalo de Dios Yellow Catuai Natural

$ 21.00 Regular price

What a coffee! For those who love the fruit-forward qualities of a naturally processed coffee but don't want any kind of wild-funkiness of an experimental ferment—this is a coffee to try out!

Last season we brought in the Red Catuai version of this coffee, but wanted to switch things up this year. Those that enjoyed that one will certainly love this one as well. It is exceptionally sweet, with a balanced acidity, and velvety texture in the cup. We taste a bouquet of dried fruits across the cup at different temperatures including golden raisin, candied plum, and mango. Alongside the fruits sweet to savory chocolate notes can be found throughout. It is a remarkably clean coffee for being naturally processed.

We hope you love it as much as we do! Here's some information on the farm.

Finca Un Regalo de Dios (translated literally "a gift from God") is truly a unique and particularly special place to grow coffee. The farm has loose sandy soil, with great amounts of humus, alongside an annual rainfall of between 55in and 63in. In addition, the area has a rich biodiversity of fauna and flora, with an abundance of broad-leaved trees and conifer species. The combination of these factors creates a truly unique atmosphere for coffee growing!

Luis Alberto Balladarez is the producer who oversees this wonderful coffee. He is part of a lineage of coffee producers spanning back over three generations! He has taken the family name and heritage very seriously, particularly with the meticulous details in natural processing. We are honored to have coffee from the Balladarez family in our lineup since 2022, and have no plans of taking them out of our lineup any time soon!

This coffee was imported in partnership with The Coffee Quest, whose growing team of staff and farmer partnerships are committed to transparency, long term sustainability and quality.
